Karina Clark

Karina began her healthcare career by completing a Diploma of Health Science in Nursing at the University of Tasmania in Launceston in 1991, followed by a Graduate Certificate in Critical Care Nursing at the Royal Hobart Hospital in 1994. She worked in both public and private hospitals in Hobart and Adelaide in acute care settings before pursuing a career in oral health and completing her Diploma of Dental Hygiene in Adelaide in 2002.

Karina joined Hobart Periodontics in 2019 and enjoys working as part of the dedicated specialist team, providing evidence-based treatment in a friendly and reassuring environment. With more than 20 years of experience as a dental hygienist, Karina has worked with patients across a broad range of clinical settings, providing preventative and periodontal care for patients helping them achieve and maintain optimal oral health. She enjoys building long-term supportive relationships with patients and believes that personalised care, prevention and education are fundamental to achieving positive oral and general health outcomes.

Karina has been actively involved in the advancement of the dental hygiene profession in Tasmania. She was one of the first dental hygienists to be registered in the state and is a founding member of the Tasmanian branch of the Dental Hygienists Association of Australia (DHAA) where she held ongoing executive roles as both President and Treasurer, supporting the development of the profession and promoting high standards of patient care.

Karina grew up on a farm in Koonya on the beautiful Tasman Peninsula and now lives in Hobart with her husband and two children. Outside the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, staying connected to the Tasmanian lifestyle she grew up with.
